Station Configuration
WIDEn-N Digipeater
Configuration guidance for a Kantronics KPC-3 / KPC-3+ WIDEn-N digipeater.
WIDEn-N digipeaters are the backbone of regional APRS coverage — typically mountaintop or otherwise high-elevation stations that relay traffic across a wide area.
This page covers recommended configuration parameters. For a digipeater that also reports weather data, see WIDEn-N/WX Digi. For lower-power local coverage, see Fill-In Digi.

Notes
- This page covers Kantronics KPC-3 / KPC-3+ TNCs, historically the most common hardware for regional digipeaters.
- Stagger multiple BLT (beacon location text) entries so nearby digipeaters aren't transmitting at the same moment.
- Setting up a new area digipeater requires authorized site access, appropriate antenna/coax/power/filters, and a unique alias — coordinate before going on the air.
