N1547C Cirrus SR-22 Air Expedition
My two good friends, Tim & Leigh Anne Delaney, of Santa Rosa, California, will begin a round-the-USA expedition September 21, 2005 in their Cirrus SR-22 (like the one pictured above), aircraft registration N1547C. Their trek will take them from Santa Rosa to Portland, Oregon Sept 21, then up to visit me in Spokane for two days on Sept 22 before continuing along the top border of the U.S. on an easterly heading. Then they'll turn south to Florida, with a jaunt out to some of the islands before turning west along the southern border and heading for home. They will return to Santa Rosa in early November. I am installing a tracker for friends and family to keep up with their progress, using their N number as the tracker callsign. You can check them on findu at http://map.findu.com/N1547C. The tracker consists of a Radio Shack HTX-202, TinyTrack III TNC, and Garmin GPS-35 (or Garmin GPS-18) GPS. Power is via a cigarette lighter plug. The GPS and radio antenna will be placed on the dashboard. While not the optimal location for the antenna, there aren't very many options on an internal placement. * N1547C cockpit photo courtesy of JetPhotos.net Image Copyright Colin
