11th Annual NWAPRS Summer Gathering 2008, Valley Camp, North Bend, WA Fri-Sun, Sept 5-7.

(Concluded) 2008 Microhams Digital Conference will be held March 22, 2008 on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, WA. Registration for the event is available now!. Last years presentations and video are now available online. 

(Concluded) 10th Annual NWAPRS Summer Gathering 2007, Valley Camp, North Bend, WA, Fri-Sun, Sept 7-9. The 10th annual gathering of the minds at North Bend's Valley Camp will include 2 1/2 days of fun and opportunity to match names and callsigns, here the latest on APRS and other digital modes, and finish those "back burner" tracker projects. The Valley Camp has full-hookup RV sites, tent spaces, cozy bunk room, plenty of vehicle parking, and a great covered meeting area. There'll be ample space for running around, hiking, or leisurely activities. Our hosts are Thom and Teena Proehl, managers of the camp. Thom will start taking RSVPs in June for attendance and RV parking spots. To get to the camp, take exit 34 off I-90, head north about 1/4 mile past the truck stop and then turn right on SE Middle Fork road and follow that to the Y, then take the left (lower) road. It will link back with the right-Y road, just across from the entrance to the Valley Camp. Once inside the camp follow the road to the left and you'll find us. Talk in on APRS or 146.52. (Concluded-balloon launch canx due to wx) Fire in the Sky 2007, Memorial Day Weekend May 26-28: The Washington Aerospace Club of Puyallup will host rocket launches and balloon launch near Mansfield, WA (east of Chelan) over Memorial Day weekend. Rocketeers from all over the PacNW will attend. A near space balloon launch will occur Sunday from the launch site. An APRS tracker will be used to track the payload trek up and back to earth. Ground search teams equipped with APRS mobile capability are requested. We'll be on the Omak repeater 145.45-, no tone. If you are interested, contact Robert Nech. (Concluded) Microhams Digital Conference (incorporating NWAPRS Winter Gathering), Microsoft Corporate campus, Redmond, WA, Sat, Feb 24, 2007. The Puget Sound NWAPRS WG has been "expanded" to include other digital discussions. Meeting starts at 0900. Subway sandwiches will be provided. Cost is $10 per person (to cover expenses). There will be door prizes. Advance registration required for security/access to Microsoft campus. (Concluded) SEA-PAC: June 16-18, Seaside, OR. Ron Reeves/N7QXO will put on an APRS demo this year. Don Arnold/W6GPS, will be there pushing the AvMap G4T GPS communicator. Dave/K7GPS will not be there due to non-emergency medical commitment.

(Concluded) NWAPRS Spring Digital Gatherings 2006..... Our 3rd round of Winter Gatherings, which are one day meetings across the region to invite new people to learn more about APRS, and allow us old timers time to renew friendships and share coffee together, are now being planned. This year we plan to add discussions on Winlink, Airmail, regular Packet, and HF digital modes of communication. Last year we had meetings in Billings, Spokane, Longview, Edmonton, and at the Puyallup Mike & Key Hamfest. These meetings can be part of a local hamfest or other related gathering, or a stand-alone visit. Spokane, WA: Saturday, March 25th, from 0900-1500, at Conley's Place Restaurant, 12622 E Sprague, Spokane Valley, just east of Pines, on the south side of Sprague. We've been promised the upstairs room, which seats 40 and can be made dark enough to show a PPT presentation. Their phone is 509-924-5411. Anybody wishing to have breakfast is welcome to show up around 0700. We'll have presentations and demos of APRS, Airmail, Winlink, and good old VHF packet. Help needed with the presentations. Billings SG: The 3rd Annual APRS Spring Gathering will be held in Billings, Montana on Saturday, April 2nd, at the Fuddrucker's REstaurant at 875 Main St in the "Heights", to begin around 11am til 2pm. We will discuss operating software, settings for mobiles and fixed stations, emergency usage, weather stations and have some show and tell of home projects. Puget Sound, WA: An APRS demo table will be set up at the Puyallup Fairgrounds at the Mike & Key Hamfest on Mar 12th 2005. Herb/KB7UVC is leading the effort, and will need help manning the table and answer question from folks interested in APRS. If you can help, sign up for a time slot with Herb at this event.

Note: At this time there is no participation (presentation or demo table) planned for SEAPAC this year, June 17-19, and the deadline to get something in the printed program is past. I will not be available to lead this, and Ron/N7QXO is presenting another topic. We asked for someone to lead this effort, but no one replied.
